Kulm Hotel

Actor Joe Locke, known for his breakout role as Charlie Spring in Netflix’s acclaimed series Heartstopper, recently graced the Kulm Hotel with his presence during a visit to St. Moritz. As a rising star in the entertainment world, Locke’s captivating performances have earned him a place in the hearts of audiences worldwide. We caught up with Joe to discover what he loved (or perhaps didn’t love) about his winter stay. From the breathtaking views of the Engadin Valley to the luxurious amenities of the Kulm Hotel, he shared his favourite experiences from his visit.

What did you expect of your stay prior to arrival?
I had no idea what to expect before my arrival; I had never been to St. Moritz before! I knew the Kulm would be gorgeous and beautiful, but I did not expect the amazing level of service and variety of food and activities that were available.

What did you enjoy most about St. Moritz and the Kulm Hotel?
I love a winter town, and also love a luxury stay. So both St. Moritz and the Kulm were the most perfect mix for that. Opening the curtains each morning to see the most beautiful views, whilst enjoying a warm coffee has to be the highlight for anyone. Also the spa. Sitting in a warm pool, but being outside in the snow was the most peaceful thing to do, especially after a day on the slopes!

Tell us about your favourite meal or drink in St. Moritz. Do you love or hate fondue?
I love fondue, but my body doesn’t! But when in St. Moritz it’s a must! I think with the Alps as a backdrop, there is nothing better than a Negroni by the fire after a long day skiing.

What was the worst part about visiting?
Leaving! I did not want to leave. That, or coming down the mountain at the end of a long day skiing… carrying skis on the funicular is not so fun! But it’s worth it to be able to ski in such beautiful scenery. And there is nothing better than getting back from a day of skiing and getting into a hot shower. (The water pressure at the Kulm is amazing.)

What was your ideal activity? Do you love hiking? Hate skiing?
I love skiing, I really do. But what makes me love skiing the most is the après-ski. Going to the spa, then a big long dinner, and a drink by the fire before bed – there’s nothing better! Oh, how I miss it!
